We are hiring hydrodemolition operators. Removing concrete with ultra high pressure water, mostly with remote controlled robots, so the reinforcement stays intact for the repair: bridge decks, wharves and piles, tunnels, car park structures, dams and industrial plant.

This is Class B high pressure water jetting under AS/NZS 4233. If you already hold MSMWJ301 Operate a high pressure water jetting system and have run a hydrodemolition robot or a hand lance, we want you. If you have the water jetting competency but not the robot time, we will train you on the machine.

DeconCut is Perfect Group's specialist industrial cutting business. We take the cuts other contractors walk away from: sections too big or too heavily reinforced for a normal saw, plant where flame cutting is not allowed, confined and remote spaces, and jobs where the cut sequence has to be engineered and signed off before anyone starts.

    What the job is

    • Operating hydrodemolition robots by remote control, from outside the jet zone.
    • Setting up pumps, hoses and robots, and running the pre start checks.
    • Working as nozzle operator or safety observer, swapping roles to manage fatigue.
    • Setting and holding the exclusion zone with the safety observer.
    • Running water capture and treatment so the high pH water is dealt with properly and never sent to stormwater.
    • Keeping pump and robot maintenance records.

    What we look for

    Tell us what you have actually done. If you are strong on most of this and keen on the rest, still apply.

    • MSMWJ301 Operate a high pressure water jetting system, or equivalent Class B competency. We can put the right person through it.
    • Hydrodemolition, hydro blasting or industrial water jetting experience.
    • White Card and a driver licence. An HR or MR truck licence is a plus.
    • Confined Space, Working at Heights and EWP tickets all help.
    • Happy to travel and work away.
    • Disciplined about exclusion zones. Water at these pressures does not give second chances.

    What it pays

    Pay depends on experience and tickets. Tell us what you are on and we will be straight with you. Travel work pays more, and there is interstate work for people who want it.

We hire on what you have done, not on the title.
