Wire Sawing & Structural Cutting
Wire sawing for sections a standard rig cannot loop
Diamond wire sawing is our core method for cutting large, heavily reinforced concrete and steel. A wire saw is not limited by blade diameter. The wire loops the full section and pulls through it, so the practical limit is wire storage, not motor power. That is the difference between quoting a pier cap and quoting a full bridge pier, a chimney or a jacket leg.
We run Hilti wire saw systems, with a 30 kW twin motor unit as the flagship. It is rated for heavily reinforced concrete, masonry, stone and steel, wet or dry, and partly submerged operation. Where power or access is available at only one end of the structure, we design the wire path around it.
Where it makes sense:
- Large beams, columns and transfer structures too deep for a wall saw.
- Bridge components, pier heads and abutments.
- TBM and tunnel infrastructure, shafts and portals.
- Heavy foundations, machine bases and plinths.
- Steel sections and composite structures where flame cutting is not permitted.
- Partly submerged and marine structures.

How we deliver it
- Assess the structure, the access, the load path and what happens the moment the cut is complete.
- Design the cutting sequence, temporary works and mounting method, and put it in writing before anyone mobilises.
- Set up the wire path, guarding and exclusion zones, then cut with water and slurry control.
- Rig, lift and remove each section in the planned order.
DeconCut operates as part of Perfect Group and works under its integrated management system and ISO certifications. The cut plan comes with engineering behind it, not just a saw and an operator.
