We are hiring cutting technicians for high hazard and remote work. Confined spaces, silos, tanks and vessels, tight access inside operating plant, and remote sites where you take everything you need with you.

This suits experienced people who stay calm, plan properly and follow the rescue plan every time. We use remote controlled machines to keep people out of the danger zone wherever we can, so experience with remote demolition or hydrodemolition machines counts.

DeconCut is Perfect Group's specialist industrial cutting business. We take the cuts other contractors walk away from: sections too big or too heavily reinforced for a normal saw, plant where flame cutting is not allowed, confined and remote spaces, and jobs where the cut sequence has to be engineered and signed off before anyone starts.

    The basics

    We are hiring in NSW, QLD and WA, including FIFO mining work out of Perth. Pick "Anywhere in Australia" if you will travel.

    What the job is

    • Cutting in confined spaces and hard access areas with modular, carry in equipment.
    • Running remote controlled machines from outside the hazard zone.
    • Working to confined space permits, gas testing, standby and rescue arrangements.
    • Packing, checking and maintaining the spread for remote mobilisation.
    • Working alongside the site's own crews and the principal's safety team.
    • Daily reporting to the cutting supervisor.

    What we look for

    Tell us what you have actually done. If you are strong on most of this and keen on the rest, still apply.

    • Current Confined Space Entry and gas test atmospheres.
    • Experience in confined space or hazardous industrial work: tanks, silos, vessels, tunnels or mines.
    • Working at Heights, EWP and first aid. Rope access is a plus.
    • Remote machine experience, demolition robots or hydrodemolition robots, is a real plus.
    • Happy with FIFO, DIDO and long trips away.
    • Fitness for work and drug and alcohol testing as the site requires.

    What it pays

    Pay depends on experience and tickets. Tell us what you are on and we will be straight with you. Travel work pays more, and there is interstate work for people who want it.

We hire on what you have done, not on the title.

The work goes where the structures are: tunnels, bridges, power stations, mines, refineries and industrial plant up and down the East Coast and interstate, so expect travel and time away on the bigger jobs.
