Heavy Steel & Industrial Cutting
We cut and segment heavy steel and industrial components so they can be removed, replaced or reconfigured with minimal disruption.
Heavy steel and industrial structures rarely come apart cleanly. Tanks corrode from the inside out, frames carry load in ways the drawings no longer show, and half the job sits inside a live plant where a spark is not acceptable. Cutting them safely is a planning problem before it is a cutting problem.
DeconCut takes on the cuts standard contractors decline. We assess each component, choose the method that suits it, and sequence the work so every section comes away under control. Where the material must keep its certification, we cut cold: material stays below 65 degrees, so there is no heat affected zone and no post-cut heat treatment.
Typical assets
- Structural steel frames, trusses and supports.
- Tanks, vessels, stacks and silos.
- Process equipment, conveyors and crushers.
- Pipelines, pipe racks and heavy fabrications.
- Hydrocarbon-contaminated steel where thermal cutting is not permitted.
Approach
- Choose the right method for each component: diamond wire, UHP abrasive water jet or controlled mechanical cutting.
- Sequence the cuts around the load path, the rigging and the lift plan.
- Control sparks, heat, slurry and waste streams from the first cut to the last load out.
- Document the methodology so the client's engineer can sign it off before we start.
