Hydrodemolition & UHP Water Jet Cutting

Ultra high pressure water removes concrete precisely and leaves the reinforcement clean and undamaged

Hydrodemolition uses ultra high pressure water to remove defined depths of concrete without impact, vibration or damage to the steel behind it. Where a jackhammer bruises the substrate and fractures aggregate around the bar, water removes only what the pressure is set to remove, and leaves a surface that new concrete bonds to properly.

Applications
  • Removal of damaged or carbonated concrete on bridge decks, beams and soffits.
  • Dams, spillways and water infrastructure refurbishment.
  • Wharf, jetty and marine structure repair.
  • Selective removal around post-tensioning and congested reinforcement.
  • Surface preparation ahead of structural overlays and repairs.

How we run it
Robotic and remote operation first. Modern hydrodemolition robots are operated by radio remote with the operator well outside the jet zone, and compact climbing units exist specifically for silos, tunnels and narrow passages. Keeping people out of the line of the jet is the single strongest safety control in this trade, and we design every job around it.All of our water jetting sits in Class B under AS/NZS 4233, so every operator is trained and assessed to the national competency for high pressure water jetting, with a nozzle operator and safety observer on every crew and two independent shutoffs on every gun.Wastewater is engineered, not improvised. Hydrodemolition water is high pH and sediment laden, and state EPAs prosecute discharges. We plan neutralisation and treatment into the job from day one, sized to the pump, with off-site disposal as the fallback. Water treatment is a licence to operate, not an accessory.
