Wire sawing in Wollongong and the Illawarra
The Illawarra concentrates heavy industry into a narrow strip between the escarpment and the sea. Steelworks, the port, the coal terminal, the grain terminal, the rail line down the coast and the road upgrades that keep cutting through all of it. The structures are big, reinforced and often live.
Wire sawing is the method for sections a wall saw cannot get around. The wire is fed through cored holes, closed around the section and pulled through under tension. The rig's wire storage sets the largest section we can loop. Our flagship rig is a Hilti 30 kW twin motor electric wire saw, run off a minimum 80 kVA generator and rated for heavily reinforced concrete, masonry, stone and steel, wet or dry and partly submerged.

How we deliver it in Wollongong
We start with the structure, not the saw. Send us the drawings, or tell us what you have. We assess the section, the reinforcement, the access, the load path and what happens to the piece once it is cut. Then we give you a cut sequence, the temporary works it needs and a price for the whole method, not a rate per square metre.
Crews cover Wollongong, Port Kembla, Shellharbour, Kiama and the Southern Highlands from Granville. We do not quote a production rate until we have cut your material. Nobody publishes one for a 30 kW wire saw in reinforced concrete and we will not guess.
