Wire sawing in Brisbane, from our home base
DeconCut is based at Slacks Creek in Brisbane's south. It is the registered home of the business and where the plant lives, so Brisbane jobs get the shortest mobilisation in the country.
The method is diamond wire. A loop of diamond beaded wire is fed through cored holes, closed around the section and pulled through it under tension. The limit is not the motor, it is wire storage: the wire has to reach around the whole section and back to the rig. Our flagship rig is a Hilti 30 kW twin motor electric wire saw, run off a minimum 80 kVA generator and rated for heavily reinforced concrete, masonry, stone and steel, wet or dry and partly submerged.

Roma Street Station, Cross River Rail. For the CBGU Joint Venture (CPB, BAM, Ghella, UGL), Perfect Group wire sawed a reinforced concrete capping beam one metre wide, 600 mm high and 12 metres long as part of temporary access works into the future underground station, sectioning it into 4 metre blocks. Core drilling passed the wire through the structure. Vibration-free cutting was the reason wire was chosen, in one of the most active zones of Queensland's largest public transport project.
That is the kind of cut DeconCut exists for. A live, sensitive site, a tier one joint venture, and a section a wall saw could not handle.
How we deliver it in Brisbane
We start with the structure, not the saw. Send us the drawings, or tell us what you have. We assess the section, the reinforcement, the access, the load path and what happens to the piece once it is cut. Then we give you a cut sequence, the temporary works it needs and a price for the whole method, not a rate per square metre.
Crews and plant run from Slacks Creek and cover Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast. We do not quote a production rate until we have cut your material. Nobody publishes one for a 30 kW wire saw in reinforced concrete and we will not guess.
